LUMOplay requires at least 4 physical cores capable of Hyperthreading or Simultaneous Multithreading (minimum 8 threads). However, if you're shopping around you'll notice that many reseller websites do not mention whether their computer can manage 8 threads.
Here's how you can find out.
1. Identify the processor
Here's a screenshot of a page from BestBuy. Scroll down the page to find the specifications and expand them:
Identify the manufacturer (Intel), the Generation (i7) and the Model Number (13700).
2. Search the web for more information
Copy the manufacturer, generation, and model number and do a web search using your preferred browser. Look for a link directly to the manufacturers website. In this example, it's Intel.
3. Look at the technical specification provided by the manufacturer
Review the manufacturer's technical specifications, including the number of cores and the number of threads that this model of computer is capable of running:
The processor in this example can run 24 concurrent threads and is capable of running LUMOplay.
Do this for any processor
This method also works for AMD processors. Here's different screenshot from BestBuy:
The manufacturer is AMD, the generation is Ryzen 5, and the model number is 5600G.
Search this info and find a link to the AMD website:
The manufacturer's page includes the number of cores and threads for this processor model.
In this case, the computer has 6 cores and is capable of 12 threads:
This processor is also capable of running LUMOplay.
