We are aware of an issue with the Intel™ RealSense® D415, D435, and D435i cameras when used with high-brightness projectors, especially laser or laser/hybrid projectors like the Epson Powerlite L615U.
Due to the RealSense® D400 series lacking band-pass filters to block visible light, the camera can see the projection, causing distortion and poor performance with LUMOplay.
Intel™ is aware of this issue, and we are working together to resolve it. In the meantime, affected users can try adjusting the RealSense® exposure settings to mitigate the problem. Exposure settings can be accessed by using the official RealSense® Viewer application or by using the Advanced RealSense® Settings window available in LUMOplay 4.1.0 and later.
If you know you will be using a high-intensity projector like the Epson Powerlite L615U, we currently advise against using the Intel™ RealSense® cameras, and suggest you use the Orbbec Astra until a permanent solution is available.
