In 2021, we began receiving reports of issues with the Orbbec Astra camera in a small number of setups.
Affected systems appear to have cameras that 'drift' over time, creating a large amount of noise one side of the screen which affects the system accuracy.
How to improve accuracy issues related to Orbbec Astra camera drifting.
1) Ensure that your environment is at the recommended temperature, 0 - 40°C.
2) Check the temperature of the camera itself using a temperature gun, or just by touching it to make sure it isn't overheating, (above 40°C).
3) Shut down LUMOplay and unplug the Orbbec Astra camera from your computer. Wait 30 minutes, plug the camera back in, and resart LUMOplay. Wait for approximately 30 seconds, then recalibrate your system.
