When using the Orbbec Astra with an extension cable, you need to make sure that your extension is powered as well as active.

Passive extensions cannot maintain signal strength over lengths greater than ~6 ft.

Un-powered extensions can not continually power the Orbbec Astra properly so they will eventually disconnect.

You can either use a powered USB hub on the sensor side of the active extension or you can get an active extension that is also powered externally.
