Can I re-sell custom commissioned or Motion Maker apps?

Whether you have an active subscription to LUMO Playmaker or you buy a Motion Maker app outright to use with LUMO Playground or LUMOplay Free, the app can only be used with the account from which it was created. However, you can publish your apps to multiple accounts by paying an additional publishing fee.

Selling Custom Apps for Events

If you are creating custom content for events and you plan to make one or more custom Motion Maker apps a month, you should subscribe to LUMO Playmaker, which will allow you to create and publish as many custom Motion Maker apps as you want. You will lose access to these apps if you terminate your subscription, but you can restore them for use with LUMO Playground or LUMOplay Free by purchasing them for $80.

Selling Custom Apps for Permenant Installations

If you are creating custom content for a permenant installation, your customer will need their own LUMOplay license, and you will need to send a request to have any apps created in your own account published to a customer's account.

This costs $80 per account. If you are re-selling custom designed Motion Maker effects, you are welcome to charge whatever you choose, but you will have to pay this fee to publish your creations to your customer's account.

Selling Custom Apps with Turnkey Systems or Kits

If you are creating full turnkey systems, we recommend installing LUMOplay with your customer's account and designing your content on that system, which allows your customer to take over management of their software as soon as you resell the system, and relieves you of the fee to publish to a second account.

Selling Advanced Custom Apps

Our team focuses on robust distribution tools, but we limit our marketplace to relatively simple apps. We're currently seeking companies who have compelling ideas for custom app distribution, and who wish to become experts in a specific and more complex app category (such as interactive AR surface experiences, multi-level or multi-device apps, and other experiences that are too complex to be offered in LUMOplay's standard app market.
