Hockey target game
AnsweredWould it be possible to make a similiar game to wall ball but with hockey net background and targets positioned in each corner of the net. The targets would explode on contact and the game would be over when either all targets have been broken or a pre set time (20 secs) has expired. I have built a net but I couldn't get the reaction time quick enough for a puck strike to pick up on the camera (pixie2). if your system was quick enough to react to the speed of a puck strike then it would be a rather simple modification to a wall ball type game. On my own net I had to place vibration sensors (9 in total) and feed the co-ord to the computer as a mouse location (x,y) to the usb port My software just reacts to the net as a mouse point and click event. Other games could include hit all 9 squares in the shortest time and tic tac toe. pucks used would be floor hockey type plastic pucks and shot speed could be up to 60mph. could your system handle this? If not could a game of this type be created to react to a mouse input of this type without the need of a camera?

Hi Glennie2,
We could easily create a wall ball target game for a large foam puck, but high accuracy sports apps require high speed cameras and a lot of R&D, because often the intention is to install these games in areas with high ambient lighting light sports arenas. If your intention is a simple, hockey-like game that can be played with a toy stick and foam puck, we can definitely put something together for you. If you want to use a real puck at real hockey speeds, this would be a long term custom development project with a fairly high budget, and you can request an estimate here: https://www.lumoplay.com/get-a-quote
Please let me know if you're still interested in a simple version of a hockey game.
