In August 2018, we released Lumo Play 4 to new customers. We're now making an update available to all our existing Lumo Play 1.* users, directly from the software.
What You Need To Know
This is a MAJOR UPDATE. You will be required to re-calibrate your system, and you may also need to upgrade your hardware. Make sure you're ready!
Make some time
Luckily, calibration is easier than ever in Lumo Play 4, but you should make sure you have the time to do this before installing the update.
Check your hardware
You should also review our current Hardware Requirements to verify that the computer you're using still meets the minimum requirements for Lumo Play 4.
Update your system by April 2019
If your hardware can't support Lumo Play 4, we recommend planning a hardware upgrade before the end of April 2019 to ensure that your Lumo Play system does not experience downtime.
You'll find a complete list of our ongoing features and updates in the Lumo Play Release Notes.
This update includes a number of very big improvements, including:
- Calibration presets for your equipment setup
- Calibration wizard tutorial videos
- Stability and performance improvements
- Language selection
- Remote control API
- Game sorting filters
- 3D and skeletal-tracking games support
- Game Gallery Menu (Beta)
To get a more detailed look at what all has changed, please read our announcement article.
What to Expect
There's not a lot of difference between this update and our previous ones, except that you'll need to re-calibrate. However, if you want to take a quick look at the upgrade process before you perform it, here are some step-by-step screenshots.
Your software icon will change
We've changed our logo and branding, and this is reflected in the new icon design.
You will be warned
Because you will need some extra time to re-calibrate your system, the latest update will verify that you wish to proceed.
You will be asked to reinstall your drivers
It's recommended that you update the drivers for whatever equipment you are using when you perform this update.
You may have to restart your computer
After performing this update, your computer may need to restart. If you use your computer for other things besides Lumo Play, remember to save and close other applications before you finish the update.
You will need to recalibrate your system
We may have already mentioned this. ;)
Luckily, the latest update includes tutorial videos and preset configurations, so this will be much easier than it used to be.
That's it! We hope you enjoy all the hard work we continue to put into improving Lumo Play, and we invite you to share your thoughts and comments with us in the new Community Section of the Help Center.
