If your camera is unresponsive or if you can see your web camera in the list of sensors but the video feed only shows black try these steps.
Verify the web camera works with other software:
Try opening Skype or a camera app on your computer, if you don't have such an app you can try an online tool such as https://webcamtests.com/
If the camera doesn't work with other software, try checking your privacy settings.
How to check your privacy settings:
In Windows 10, there is an option that disables your web cameras, follow these steps to determine if this is happening to you:
- Open the Windows menu and type Settings
- Open Settings and go to the Privacy section
- Under Privacy on the left side, choose Camera
- Verify that Allow apps to access your camera is On
